Computer Animation Techniques 
DETAILS: The 4th AniNex workshop will be collocated with the 35th
International Conference on Computer Animation and Social Agents (CASA
2022). The conference will be held at Nanjing, China, on 5-7 July, 2022.
High quality papers will be recommended to be published in the journal
Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds (SCI & SCIE) of Wiley, or a
special issue of Graphics & Visual Computing of Elsevier.  Graphics &
Visual Computing is an open access journal (as a sister journal for
Computers & Graphics) where the journal has kindly agreed to waive the
open access fee for this special issue. Other accepted papers will be
included in the conference proceeding of CASA 2022.  

The AniNex workshop aims to disseminate state of the art research
related to all perspectives on computer animation, including
interdisciplinary approaches. It will provide special focus on advanced
physics-based animation, such as multi-phase fluids, and novel machine
learning solutions for computer generated imagery. Submission documents
must be anonymous (they do not contain author names).

SUBJECT: LIFD's Prof. Bruce Hanson discusses The UK's National Nuclear
User Facility

DETAILS: In July 2020, ESPRC announced that the University of Leeds, led
by the School of Chemical and Process Engineering, was the latest
institution to join the UK's National Nuclear User Facility (NNUF). The
NNUF project is a Government investment in the UK's nuclear future,
providing state-of-the-art experimental facilities for research and
development in nuclear science and technology. Prof. Bruce Hanson,
(working with Prof. Mike Fairweather, Dr Tim Hunter, Dr David Harbottle,
Dr Marco Colombo and Prof. Jeff Peakall in the School of Earth and
Environment at Leeds University) successfully won £2,86M (£3M FEC)
funding to build a multiphase fluid flow facility in the latest call for
proposals. MUFFIN (MUltiphase Fluid Flow In Nuclear systems) will be a
facility based at the University of Leeds and be part of the LIFD, with
the dedicated aim to enable world class research on multiphase fluid
flow, at a scale that is representative of a real system. In this talk,
Prof. Bruce Hanson will describe how MUFFIN will be designed and built,
as well as the capabilities that will be available to researchers.

BioActive Fluids workshop at the University of Liverpool.
DATE: 6-8 June 2022 + ECR workshop on May 31st 2022. A joint conference
between NBIC and the BioActive fluids group.  
DETAILS: There are major societal health challenges associated with
bacterial infection and ultimately the emergence of anti-microbial
resistance fomented in biofilms. The aim of this workshop is to develop
opportunities to showcase our research to industry, increase our
understanding of the applied challenges, and develop new collaborations
with industrial partners.  

Registrations and abstract submissions are now open. The main workshop
with invited and contributed talks on June 6th -7th, and a collaborative
challenge-led session with industrial focus on June 8th will be fully
hybrid. The one-day ECR workshop on May 31st will be online via zoom.
