SPECIAL MESSAGES
IN MEMORIAM: ANDREAS ACRIVOS (1928–2025):
Fluid dynamicists will be saddened by the death on 17 February 2025 of
Andreas Acrivos at the age of 96. Andy revolutionized the fundamental
fluid mechanics approach to chemical engineering problems, and was the
father of the "non-turbulent" school of fluid dynamics in USA and
beyond. He was the chief-editor of Physics of Fluids for more than ten
years and made a decisive contribution to the golden period of the
journal. He also was vigorously involved in IUTAM and the American
Physical Society.
Andy is survived by his wife Jennie.
_From Tim Pedlet, with the help of Jacques Magnaudet._
